This is the most favorite mute for me.
I have a Whisper mute and an original sshh practice mute. Both have good intonation across all registers. The Whisper mute has less sound-dampening than the sshh practice mute. But it serves more natural feeling. I use the Whisper mute in daytime and the sshh practice mute at night.
I certainly recommend you to own both these excellent mutes.
I ordered the Whisper Mute as I already had the Practice Mute from an earlier purchase some years ago. I haven't tried the Whisper mute yet however it looks as good as the practice mute, with a larger hole for the delivery of more volume, and was well and safely packed and posted and delivered promptly. I'm looking forward to trying and comparing it.
2 great mutes. Helps playing quiet with 2 dogs in the house. Shipped quickly. Cannot say enough about them. Will be a return customer for sure…
I have tried multiple mutes before I got my hands on the original sshh mute and the new whisper mute, and I must say that these are now my new favourite practice mutes. The back pressure has always been a problem for me, since I'm mainly a lead-trumpet player and always want to check the upper-register from time to time (not recommended doing that for too long). I've tried the best brass mutes, and even own both generations of the Yamaha Silent-Brass System. They were all good in their own ways, but for me, they always had an issue with weight-balance (sticking too far out of the bell) or having too much back pressure. So much so that playing with a cup/tin mute would seem like the best option at the time. Now I'm finding myself always practising with these things when I'm in my flat. Honestly... these mutes rock, and on top of that, superfast delivery, for something coming from the other side of the world.
